Why compacted Central Texas soil needs this
Between Blackland Prairie clay and rockier soil closer to the Edwards Plateau, a lot of Central Texas lawns compact hard over a few years of foot traffic, mowing and rain. Core aeration pulls small plugs of soil out of the lawn so water, air and nutrients can reach the root zone again instead of running off or sitting on the surface.
We recommend it every 2-3 years for most properties β sooner if the lawn has heavy clay soil or gets a lot of traffic.
